Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma and Education Minister Rakkam A. Sangma unveiled the NCERT textbooks for Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) during the Teachers Initiative Conclave held at Harding Theological College, Tura on Thursday.
The Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) Education Cell, along with the North Eastern Hills University Students’ Union (NEHUSU), staged a protest on Wednesday against the delayed release of students' scholarships for the year 2022-2023 at the MBOSE office in Shillong.
The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBoSE) unveiled the examination schedule for both the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) on Tuesday.
The chief minister said the exercise is important because the government is concerned about the overall education system. The decision was also taken after conducting a thorough research and consultation with different stakeholders at different levels in the education system.

Conrad Sangma graced the event as the chief guest; Education Minister Rakkam A. Sangma was the guest of honour; and the chief secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, D.P. Wahlang, Â attended the event as the special guest.
