The much-anticipated 5th Meghalaya Games 2024 in Tura will host over 3000 athletes from across the state, with the East Khasi Hills District having the highest number of participants. Till Monday (January 8, 2024), 670 athletes from East Khasi Hills District had registered for the upcoming games.

Working President of the Meghalaya State Olympics Association (MSOA), John Kharshiing, revealed that, for the first time, the event will feature traditional games representing Khasi, Jaintia and Garo Hills.

Meghalaya Games 2024 is set to make a resounding start as it unveiled its official anthem, “Here We Play,” a harmonious collaboration between Shillong based folk fusion outfit Summersalt and Tura’s NOKPANTE, at Tura on Friday.
The 5th Meghalaya Games is scheduled to take place from January 15 to 20, 2024. This sporting extravaganza will mark its debut in Tura Town in West Garo Hills district.
