Close to 80 percent of the 104 Unarmed Branch (UB) constables, who completed their training in Meghalaya police’s 6th battalion on Tuesday, have qualification above the minimum educational criteria.
The three new criminal laws passed by the parliament include: the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA), which will replace the Indian Penal Code 1860, the Criminal Procedure Code 1973, and the Indian Evidence Act 1872, respectively.
