President of the Meghalaya SSA Schools Association (MSSASA), Aristotle C Rymbai, on Monday said the state government in the past had failed to follow the guidelines right from the beginning leading to the problems in the implementation of the SSA program in Meghalaya.
The agitating SSA non-teaching staff on Tuesday rejected the appeal made by Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma to call off their indefinite sit-in-demonstration on the ground that their demands are yet to be addressed by the state government.

The All Meghalaya SSA Non-Teaching Staffs Association (AMSSANTSA) on Wednesday kicked started its indefinite sit-in-demonstration after rejecting the state government’s decision to enhance the salary of 1037 non-teaching staff under SSA by 25 percent instead of 80 percent as demanded.
