The inaugural edition of Meghalaya Youth League 2024 came to a spectacular end with championship glory for West Jaintia District Sports Association in the U-14 category and Shillong Sports Association in the U-16 category following two thrilling finals at the SSA Stadium at First Ground, Polo here on Friday.

Having begun back in July and having since witnessed truly entertaining and exhilarating sport, the next generation of state footballers are all set to contest the U-14 and U-16 finals of the first ever Meghalaya Youth League 2024. Both games will take place on Friday at the SSA Stadium at First Ground, Polo, here, with the U-14 kick-off at 11am followed by the U-16 title match at 2pm.

After tremendously exciting quarterfinals, the semifinalists of the inaugural Meghalaya Youth League 2024 were confirmed on Monday with West Jaintia District Sports Association, Shillong Sports Association, Nongstoin District Sports Association and Ri-Bhoi District Sports Association qualifying in both the U-14 and U-16 categories.

The quarterfinal fixtures of the inaugural edition of the Meghalaya Youth League 2024 were released by the Meghalaya Football Association (MFA) on Monday.

Ri-Bhoi District Sports Association and Shillong Sports Association finished first and second in Zone C of the Meghalaya Youth League 2024 at the conclusion of the last round robin matches on Saturday.

Pyndengumiong District Sports Association left it until the final day of the U-16 zonal matches to take second place and, with it, a spot in the quarterfinals of the inaugural Meghalaya Youth League 2024 from Zone D.

August has been the busiest month in the Meghalaya Youth League 2024, with action taking place every weekend, with Saturday being the fifth day of the U-14 and U-16 tournament, organised by the Meghalaya Football Association (MFA), this month.

Around half of the league matches in the Meghalaya Youth League 2024, the inaugural edition of the statewide U-14 and U-16 football tournament, have taken place already, with the lure of the quarterfinals getting ever closer.

Nongstoin District Sports Association extended their lead in the U-16 category of Pool D in the Meghalaya Youth League 2024 on Saturday, now with a 5-point advantage over the rest of the pack.
