Responding to concerns about the current challenges facing the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), C&RD Minister, AT Mondal, on Thursday said payments are being made as soon as the Government of India releases funds.
Minister in-charge Community & Rural Development, Abu Taher Mondal, said the current status of pending wage component under MGNREGA in the state to be cleared to the beneficiaries is Rs 90.11 crore.
In a statement, VPP spokesperson Dr Batskhem Myrboh said that the Government of India on June 26, 2023 had issued an order for the release of the 1st instalment of first tranche of Central Assistance towards the material component for the year 2023-24 to the state of Meghalaya amounting to Rs 301.94 crores.
