On Monday, the officials said that the Assam Rifles organised a security meeting with Village Council Presidents and YMA Secretaries in the eastern Mizoram district of Champhai. The discussions covered a range of issues, with a particular focus on security-related matters concerning the villages along the border.

Thangsonlen Guite, 33, Khamlenkap Guite, 28, Thon Thon, 28, and Mei Yuk, 49, all residents of the Sagaing region in Myanmar were arrested on Saturday near the Rish Hotel, Moreh.

Around 35,000 Myanmar nationals, including children and women, have taken shelter in Mizoram since February 2021, after the Myanmar military, following a coup, took over the governance.
