Nagaland government spokesperson and Minister for Power and Parliamentary Affairs, K.G. Kenye said that the state government has taken notice of the "death threats and capital punishment" for K. Rulho, a contractor and trader by the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Khango).
The Supreme Court today issued a notice to the Centre following a writ petition from the Nagaland government. The petition challenges the Centre's refusal to grant prosecution sanctions for 30 Indian Army personnel involved in a December 4, 2021, incident.
Nagaland Government Commissioner T. Mhabemo Yanthan highlighted the pivotal role of ALBR in registering newborns and ensuring the inclusion of children aged 0 to 5 years.
“We strongly feel that such an approach is a direct threat to the practices of our customary laws, social practices and the religious practices governing every individual in our society," Kenye stated.
The sale, trade and import of dog meat was banned on July 4, 2020, by the Nagaland Government through its Chief Secretary after a photograph of incapacitated dogs tied to gunny bags went viral on social media.
