A moderate earthquake struck the East Garo Hills district of Meghalaya, on May 6, 2024. According to the National Centre for Seismology, the quake measured 3.4 on the Richter scale and occurred at 12:17 am (Asia/Kolkata GMT +5.30).
A moderate intensity earthquake, measuring 5.6 on the Richter Scale, hit parts of northeastern region of India and adjoining Bangladesh on Saturday morning.
