The Assam government is set to launch a fresh crackdown on private NEET exam centres after investigations revealed glaring inconsistencies—students scoring abnormally high marks but underperforming in classrooms.

Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang said that the state government has decided to provide financial support for higher studies in MBBS, engineering and other professional fields, exclusively for students who have graduated from government schools and qualified from government schools and qualified through NEET.
