Reacting to reports, Syiem, who is a sitting MDC from Mawryngkneng, said that there was a proposal from the leaders and supporters of the NPP from both the constituencies that he should seek re-election from Nongthymmai constituency instead of Mawryngkneng constituency.
While raising a supplementary query in the Assembly, Pyngrope said, "Half of the cabinet lives there but the roads in Nongthymmai are very bad except the road from deputy chief minister to my house."
