Though the prices are marginally less compared to Shillong where the prices are as high as Rs 100 per kg and expected to rise further, people in Tura have begun buying onion in huge quantities to ensure they are not affected if the prices shoot up in coming days.
Now, onion prices in Guwahati range from Rs 45-60 per kg based on varieties. The residents of Guwahati are having a harrowing time due to the sudden rise of the onion.
