The Laitumkhrah Police on Sunday afternoon arrested five individuals in connection with hurling a petrol bomb on the bust of JN Bawri, located near Bawri Mansion in the early hours of Sunday.

Speaking to reporters, Tynsong said, “We have already instructed the Director General of Police (DGP) and police force to be on the ground and make sure these things (arson attacks) do not happen in the near future.”
The petrol bomb attacks continue in Shillong as two more Police Stations and one Government Office building were targeted by unknown miscreants in the wee hours of Wednesday.
In just a span of a month, four petrol bomb attacks have been reported, targeting a police station, the police reserve, a government official, and the residence of the Deputy Chief Minister of Meghalaya.
Two vehicles parked at the Police Reserve in Salini Colony, Jowai were deliberately set on fire by unidentified individuals early Tuesday morning around 2:00 or 2:30 AM.
