Four persons from Nagaland have been arrested for their alleged involvement in a recent robbery of over Rs. 4 lakhs from the Umran petrol pump in Ri Bhoi district of Meghalaya.
According to the FIR, the manager of the petrol pump was preparing to open the station when the incident happened. The robbers forcibly restrained the manager and several employees, tied their hands and feet before proceeding to loot the establishment.
A government Mahindra Bolero vehicle bearing a number plate ML05 with "Govt. of Meghalaya" slammed into a parked Maruti Alto car near the Rongram Petrol Pump around 4:30 PM on Friday. No casualties were reported as the Maruti Alto was unoccupied at the time of the incident.
When Hub News tried to get more information, a top police official neither denied nor acknowledged these connections and speculations. He simply remarked, “As of now the case is under investigation and they (arrested NLCN members) have not revealed anything on this.”
