The District Magistrate of Eastern West Khasi Hills District, has issued a prohibitory order under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, banning the manufacturing, import, stocking, distribution, sale, and use of plastic carry bags with a thickness of less than 120 microns.
