A man convicted by the Court of the Special Judge (POCSO), Nongstoin, for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl has been sentenced to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment.

A 70 year old man who tried to rape a minor girl in his house, two years ago, has been sentenced to five years in prison by the POCSO Court in Tura, this week.
The accused will also have to undergo an additional year of simple imprisonment if he fails to pay the Rs 20,000 fine imposed on him by the court, the order stated.
