The Joint Action Committee (JAC) has demanded that the salary which has been paid to Rohit Prasad, who they alleged was illegally appointed as technical officer/senior consultant, should be recovered from the salary of NEHU Vice-Chancellor Prof Prabha Shankar Shukla with no expense borne by the university.
Irked with the adamant attitude of the Vice Chancellor (VC) of NEHU in meeting with the longstanding demands,the North Eastern Hills University Student’s Union (NEHUSU) on Thursday boycotted classes and organised a rally within the University Campus.
Vice Chancellor of the North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong, Prof Prabha Shankar Shukla on Monday commended the resolute commitment displayed by affiliated colleges in swiftly adopting the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP) as envisioned in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
“NEHU has already taken a decision to implement the NEP and till date, I have not received (any communication from) our principals and students. None of the principals have sent me any mail that they don’t want to implement the NEP,” Shukla told reporters.
