In the wake of the recent torrential rains that have wreaked havoc in the low-lying areas of Garo Hills in Meghalaya, leading to floods and landslides that claimed 17 lives, Mawkyrwat MLA and former PHE Minister, Renikton L Tongkhar, has proposed a series of preventive measures to mitigate future disasters.
