In Northeast nearly 5.5 lakh people have been affected by the floods in Assam and Manipur, even as Met department has predicted rains till the weekend. Prime Minister Narendra Modi assessed the situation on Friday.
On Sunday night at approximately 10:30 PM, a large tree was uprooted by strong winds and heavy rain in Chandmari, Tura, causing significant disruptions. The tree fell across the road leading towards the Catholic church, bringing down electrical cables which led to power cut in the area.
