Congress party has alleged that Sarma's wife firm got Rs 10 Crore subsidy from the government of India. Riniki Bhuyan Sarma, wife of Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who is chairperson and Managing Director of Pride East Entertainments Private Limited has announced to file Rs 10 crore defamation case against Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi.
An intense war of words has been going on between Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on X (formerly Twitter) since Wednesday that continued on Thursday over the CM's wife's (Riniki Bhuyan Sarma) alleged involvement in receiving a credit-linked subsidy from the Central Government.
