In a major political development, Trinamool Congress (TMC), Assam president Ripun Bora on Sunday resigned from the party, claiming that the people of the northeastern state consider it as a "regional party" of West Bengal and are not willing to accept it as their own.
Prior to filing the nomination, supporters of TMC gathered for a rally which started from Gaurang Ghat in Kokrajhar town. The rally, was attended by thousands.
