That is when, a scalper approached them, offering to sell the tickets at 10 times the original rate. Left with no choice, many bought the tickets at exorbitant prices to witness the quarterfinal match, which Shillong Lajong won.

The Shillong Traffic Police (STP) has announced several traffic restrictions ahead of the Durand Cup 2024 Semifinal football match between Shillong Lajong FC and NorthEast United FC, scheduled for August 26 at the J.N. Stadium in Polo in Shillong at 5:30 PM.

History unfolded in Meghalaya on Friday evening as Shillong hosted its first ever Durand Cup match. The Group F matches of the 133rd Durand Cup kicked-off in a glittering ceremony attended by the who’s who of the state, including Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, ministers, civil and military officials. 

The Shillong leg of the 133rd Durand Cup was inaugurated by Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad K. Sangma, amidst a dazzling opening ceremony on Friday, ahead of the first game here at the newly renovated Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium between local side Shillong Lajong FC and Nepal’s Tribhuvan Army Football Team.
