The vendors on Friday gathered at the Shillong Municipal Board (SMB) office to protest against the plan to relocate them from Khyndai Lad to other areas.
The Meghalaya High Court on Wednesday directed the Shillong Municipal Board (SMB) to submit an action taken report in regards to the street dogs and take steps to set up a shelter for them with the assistance of the state government.
Hawkers and street vendors, who are carrying out their businesses along the stretch from Motphran to Khyndailad area, on Friday took out a protest march to the office of the Shillong Municipal Board (SMB) to oppose the government’s move to relocate them.
A parallel event was organized at the plant site by the Shillong Municipal Board, where the Prime Minister’s address and the inauguration were streamed live. Dr. M. Ampareen Lyngdoh, Minister of Health and Family Welfare, attended the event as the special guest, underscoring the importance of this development in enhancing Shillong’s public health and sanitation.
During Joint Physical Verification (JPV) of Rongkhon Songittal, the dumping site of Tura Municipal Board, it was noticed that BMW such as syringes, ampoules etc, were openly dumped.
During this camp at the SMB office campus, 212 workers were enrolled in the ABHA Card and linking of MHIS with Adhaar card while in Marten site at Mawlai, 118 were enrolled.
