The Shillong airport expansion project may take three years to be completed, said Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Transport Sniawbhalang Dhar on Wednesday.
Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Transport Sniawbhalang Dhar on Wednesday said the Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT) at Mawlai Mawiong will again be made fully functional once the alternative road from Mawlai-bypass to Shillong Airport is completed within this year.
National People’s Party (NPP) national general secretary and deputy chief minister Sniawbhalang Dhar on Wednesday said the anti-incumbency factor will not affect the party in the upcoming elections to the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) and Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC), which are slated to be held on February 21.
Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar, who also serves as the Urban Affairs Minister, has assured that the government is close to resolving the long-standing issue of relocating the residents of Harijan Colony. Dhar revealed that discussions are ongoing with the central government and defence authorities regarding the allocation of defence land for the relocation.
Following the announcement of the election dates for the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) and Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC), Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister and senior National People's Party (NPP) leader, Sniawbhalang Dhar, expressed the party’s determination to form the Executive Committee (EC) on its own.
