Garo organization ACHIK has questioned the lack of development in today’s modern day era citing the example of Dajigre village under Chokpot Civil Sub-Division of South Garo Hills, that is just 26 kms away from Tura town, where people still do not have basic amenities such as drinking water, health care or even a road.
Village residents and citizens of Baghmara were invited to participate in the event. Although turnout was low, department staff managed to clean the stream, which is crucial for the village's water supply.
