The BSF Meghalaya troops on Monday had successfully intercepted four vehicles carrying a large quantity of sugar intended for smuggling into Bangladesh near the Tri-Junction at Shnongpdeng, in the border area under East Khasi Hills district, Meghalaya.
In different operations conducted on May 7, alert troops of BSF Meghalaya successfully thwarted illegal smuggling attempts along the India-Bangladesh border in Meghalaya by seizing cattle, sugar and cosmetic items worth more than Rs 15 Lakhs, being smuggled to Bangladesh through the International border of Meghalaya.
