Meghalaya's senior men's team will make the transition from first-class to T20 cricket when they play their first Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024-25 match against Hyderabad on Saturday.
Batting first after losing the toss, Meghalaya played out their allotted 20 overs but could only manage 65/8, which Baroda chased down for the loss of three wickets in 5.2 overs of ferocious hitting.
Meghalaya's bowlers had a decent outing in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy but the batting was a little bit of a let down and consigned the team to a 66-run defeat to Chhattisgarh in Jaipur on Saturday.
Meghalaya came within touching distance of victory but were ultimately denied by Mizoram in their Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 match in Jaipur on Thursday.
