The Assam government will enlist the assistance of ISRO and foreign satellite agencies to procure time-lapse images of 220 coal mines in Umrangso, Dima Hasao district, for an in-depth investigation.
The rescue operation at the Umrangso coal mine in Assam’s Dima Hasao district recovered another body on Saturday morning, bringing the death toll to two.
Assam Police have arrested Hanan Laskar, the manager of the rat-hole coal mine where a disaster struck on January 6 in Umrangso, Dima Hasao district. Laskar, employed by the mine owner, was responsible for overseeing miners' payments.
