Dibrugarh town continued to face severe waterlogging following relentless heavy rainfall for the fifth day on Monday. The situation worsened on Monday, with new areas succumbing to flooding. All 22 wards of the town have been inundated since June 27.
For the third consecutive day, Dibrugarh town remained under water after most of the streets remained waterlogged and the main Dibrugarh Town Protection (DTP) drain failed to flush out rain water from the town.
For the second consecutive day, Dibrugarh has been grappling with waterlogging. The important roads of Dibrugarh have been waterlogged and the people are facing immense difficulties because of it.
Residents of Maikhuli village, located near the Meghalaya-Assam border, gathered on Thursday, and demanded immediate repairs and the installation of culverts and proper drainage systems to address frequent waterlogging that has damaged internal roads.
