The Khasi Students Union (KSU) on Wednesday asked the State government to provide adequate security to the people especially the farmers of Lapangap village in West Jaintia Hills after they were allegedly attacked by the people from Assam side.
With a view to reaching out to MSME entrepreneurs, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) conducted a town hall meeting on micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) on Friday at the Thangbuli Village Club Hall, Amlarem, in West Jaintia Hills District.
During the inauguration ceremony presided over by Masan War, who is the secretary of the village, it was informed that the bridge will help farmers cross the river during monsoons.

The Hyniewtrep National Youth Front (HNYF), Nartiang Circle, and the Jaintia People Welfare Organisation (JPWO) on Friday apprehended and pushed back more than 18 workers associated with Dhar Company from Moodop village in West Jaintia Hills District as these workers were found lacking proper documentation, including work permits and labour licenses.
