The Assam government has unveiled ambitious plans to enhance wildlife conservation and eco-tourism by establishing two new open zoos in Dibrugarh and Silchar, with respective investments of ₹259 crore and ₹214 crore.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has informed that the state government has made a proposal to make Assam State Zoo and Botanical Garden one of the best zoos in India. He informed that Rs. 350 crore upgradation plans have been proposed for the zoo.
