Shillong, July 4: The ad-hoc teachers of different private schools under the umbrella of FASTOM said they are not happy with the Government decision in enhancing the grant in-aid announced by the State Government on Monday after the Cabinet Meeting.
The Government has decided to approved the Enhancement of Grant In Aid to Ad hoc School Teachers by ₹9000 for the Hr. Sec., Sec., & Science Teachers, and for the UP, LP, Hindi & 4th Teachers of the SSA, the enhancement will be ₹6,000.
FASTOM Spokesman, Mayborn Lyngdoh said the adhoc teachers are not happy with the Government decision to enhance the grant in aid. He said the teachers have not demanded for 50% enhancement.
He also said they have decided to continue the indefinite strike until final decision is taken tomorrow.
“We cannot come to a decision whether to accept the government decision on the enhancement of our salaries, but we will again apprised with the officers and Minister concerned. We want the same enhancement for the categories- LP,UP, secondary and higher secondary….our proposal is for these four different categories of teachers because these four different categories of teachers have been with us in the streets for the last three months”, said Lyngdoh.
“….we ask for the same salary enhancement… we know that there is a difference in qualifications but still we seek for the same salary enhancement”, he added.
“We will properly examine on what decision to take, all the teachers opinions will be taken into consideration and a final decision will be taken tomorrow at 11 A.M”, he further added.
Through this decision taken by the State Government here on Monday the teachers of Hr. Sec. Schools will get ₹33,000/-, Secondary Schools will get ₹29,000 & Science Teachers will get ₹31,000. Whereas, the UP Teachers will get ₹22,000, LP Teachers will get ₹18,000, Hind Teachers will get ₹18,000 & the 4th Teachers of the SSA will get ₹18,000.
The total impact of this decision will be ₹100 Crores (approx) annually on the Government expenditure. The enhancement will be applicable from 1st of July 2022.
Through this, Teachers of Hr. Sec. Schools will get ₹33,000/-, Sec. Schools will get ₹29,000 & Science Teachers will get ₹31,000
UP Teachers will get ₹22,000, LP Teachers will get ₹18,000, Hind Teachers will get ₹18,000 & the 4th Teachers for SSA will get ₹18,000.
