Shillong, Sept 29: A 16 year old boy lost his precious life on Friday after being struck by lightning while returning from school at Mawten Village, Mawkyrwat, South West Khasi Hills District.

It was reported that the 16-year-old boy, identified as Aiborlang Marweiñ, a student of class 10 at Mawten Secondary School, sought refuge under a tree amidst heavy rainfall upon returning from school. Regrettably, lightning struck, claiming the young boy’s life.

The Mawkyrwat police have taken custody of Aiborlang’s body for further medical examination.
