Shillong, Jan 27: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Thursday categorically denied violating COVID-19 protocols, saying the people accusing him of such have nothing better to do.
“I think for anybody to question my integrity and my entire commitment to this entire issue is quite sad and I think these people have nothing better to do, those who are questioning like that and are missing the point that there is a larger picture,” Sangma told journalists.
Stating that he has always been careful and always followed protocols, he said, “I as Chief Minister have got huge responsibilities and works to do and those are works that need to be done.”
“I was somebody who on January 21st, knowing that I was not feeling well I did not go in spite of actually not testing positive. In fact if I really wanted to go I would have gone and tested later on and taken advantage of the situation but I did not,” he added.
Sangma said it is really sad to see that people are finding some petty issues to look at while the state is busy talking about the border issue and important aspects of the 50th year of statehood celebrations.
