Jowai, Oct 20: The Khasi Department of the Thomas Jones Synod College, Jowai, on Thursday organised a One Day Workshop on how to teach Khasi at educational institutions.
The objective of the workshop was the need to correct students from an early stage (in schools) so that they don’t get confused when they are in college.
The resource persons of the workshop included Prof (Dr) Antoinette Kharmalki and Balarishisha Nongkynrih, the Asst. Professor of Shillong College.
Nongkynrih stated that there should be techniques that should be executed in classrooms with regards to literature and how to teach the language.
She stated that as teachers they should know foreign languages too so that the application of grammar can be easy.
Prof. Kharmalki stated that as humans, teachers too should recognise and understand the students in order to impart the best quality education to them. She urged the teachers to have an optimistic approach while imparting education, so that one can achieve their goals.
The participants of the Workshop included Khasi Subject teachers from schools located in Jowai.
