Shillong, Jan 6: The state police have started investigation to find out those behind the notices pasted outside several shops in Sohra and Shella.
The notice has asked local people to direct their non-tribal employees to leave the two villages, failing which they should be ready to take full responsibility for the consequences.
Two days ago, notices were found pasted outside several shops in the Sohra area. On Friday, similar notices were pasted in the Ichamati and Shella area.
The notices were printed in Khasi language.
East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police Sylvester Nongtnger said that investigation has already started to find out the people behind the notices.
“We have instructed the SDPO and OC to identify who are the people behind these notices. Therefore, inquiry into the incident is on,” he said.
The notices did not have signatures of any individual or organization.
