Itanagar, April 28: Security forces successfully gunned down three militants from the NSCN (Angmai) faction in the Pongchau area of Arunachal Pradesh’s Longding district on Sunday.

The joint operation, conducted by the Assam Rifles and Indian Army, was launched based on intelligence inputs indicating the presence of approximately 15 NSCN (Angmai) cadres campaigning in the remote region.
A fierce exchange of fire ensued between the troops and the insurgents, resulting in the death of three militants. Security personnel also recovered three AK-47 assault rifles from the encounter site.
