Tura, Sept 30: Early morning on Saturday, a TMB (Tura Municipal Board) worker was hit by a speeding car near the Police Parade Ground, Tura.
After hitting the TMB worker, the driver of the car fled the scene, abandoning his car on the middle of the road, near the Hindi Secondary School in Tura.
The victim, identified as Nanki Basfor, sustained a head injury and has been transported to the Civil Hospital for medical treatment.

The vehicle involved is a Maruti Suzuki Alto bearing the registration plate AS 16A 4379.
