Shillong, July 30: To ensure a smooth flow of traffic during the 133rd Durand Cup 2024 match in Shillong on August 2, the Superintendent of Police (SP) East Khasi Hills has implemented specific traffic arrangements in the city.
There will be no entry from Lumjingshai Junction towards CRPF Junction and from Lumjingshai Junction towards Forest Colony. Vehicles will be diverted towards Lawmali – Polo Market, taking a left turn and beyond.
The SP has requested that no vehicles be parked around the Polo area on August 2 from 11:00 AM until the event concludes. Parking on the roadside from Golf Club up to CRPF Junction will also be prohibited. The general public is urged not to park their vehicles in these areas to avoid congestion.
Additionally, the movement of loaded heavy vehicles around the Polo area will be strictly prohibited on the event day. The SP advised public to use carpooling or shared taxis instead of private vehicles to attend the ceremony.
However, the SP assured that vehicles with passes and emergency services will be facilitated accordingly.
