Agartala, April 11: The Election Commission in the West Tripura parliamentary constituency has initiated home voting on Wednesday, the initiative will continue for two days and end on 12th April. The facility reaches to voters at door step for elderly voters aged eighty five and above, and for as people with disabilities (PwD).
The home voting enables those registered for the facility, to cast their ballots from the convenience of their homes.
Election officials assembled at Umakanta Academy ground, with polling materials along with security personnel, and visited constituencies to register voters for home voting.
Voting commenced at 9 AM, with election teams ensuring transparency and tight security to facilitate a free and fair voting process, devoid of any intimidation.
The voters expressed their gratitude towards the administration and officers for facilitating the opportunity to exercise their fundamental right to vote, from the comfort of their homes.
In West Tripura all total there 9596 persons whose age is 85 years plus and 8213 persons with disability.
