Agartala, April 25: In a bizarre turn of events, a man in Tripura took the unusual step of marrying off his wife to the man with whom she was allegedly having an extramarital affair. The incident occurred last Wednesday in Santirbazar, located in the South Tripura district, and quickly went viral after videos of the ceremony circulated on social media.
The husband, identified as Nayan Saha, was seen at the wedding ceremony, which was solemnised according to Hindu rituals at a local temple in the presence of local residents.
“I don’t have any issue with it. Let them live together happily,” Nayan told reporters, expressing no bitterness.
The newlywed couple also confirmed that the marriage had taken place with their mutual consent.
According to local sources, Nayan discovered that his wife was in a relationship with a man from the same locality. Instead of escalating the matter, Nayan and his family chose to formalise the relationship by arranging their marriage.
