Agartala, Sept 16: Yet again a minor girl was allegedly abducted and sexually assaulted at South Tripura district on her way back from school on Saturday.
Meanwhile, police have started investigation into the case.
“A case was registered at Belonia Women Police Station. The minor girl studying in class 5 went to school on Saturday but didn’t return home after the school hours were over,” said a police official.
The family members learned that their daughter was abducted and they started searching for her but when they could not find her, they took help from the police and filed a complaint. The minor girl was left near her residence late evening on Saturday.
“We have got an information that a minor girl student of class 5 didn’t return to her home from the school. We have started an investigation and came to know that a boy left the girl near her residence. The boy has been identified as a 22-year-old youth from the same locality. A case was registered and investigation has been started,” said police official.
He said, “We have registered a case under section 127(1), 96/76/65,(2) BNS along with sec 4 of POCSO Act against the accused. Our investigation has started.”
Earlier on Friday, Tripura police arrested two youths on the charge of allegedly gangraping a minor girl in North Tripura district. The arrested persons were both in their twenties and were both identified to be residents of the district.
The two youths allegedly abducted her when she went to a shop on Thursday evening and took her to a nearby jungle and sexually assaulted her.
