Tripura: Mobile shop owner stabbed by customer in Agartala

Agartala, Oct 16: A mobile shop owner was seriously injured in a knife attack by a customer in Agartala on Tuesday evening.

According to police, both the victim and the attacker were hospitalized in a serious condition.

The incident occurred at Melarmath area following a heated argument in the shop with a customer over some financial transaction, according to preliminary assessments.

The shop owner, Harisankar Saha, was attacked after confronting a customer over the use of abusive language in his store.

During the confrontation, the customer drew a knife and inflicted multiple cuts on Harisankar’s face, leaving the shop floor covered in blood.

Locals and shop staff quickly intervened, overpowering the attacker and assaulting him before police arrived.

West Tripura Superintendent of Police, Kiren Kumar, said police have started investigating the matter related to the attack.
