Agartala, Mar 22: In a major anti-narcotics operation, Tripura Police arrested three persons, including a drug kingpin from Silchar, Assam.
Police also seized Yaba tablets worth ₹5.5 crore in Agartala.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Sahidul Hossein Talukdar (32) from Silchar, Assam, Nayan Mani Namasudra (29), and Biswajit Biswas (28) from Tripura.

According to the police, Sahidul Hossein Talukdar is a drug kingpin who operates the entire network from Assam.
“After receiving secret inputs, a special team was formed, and a raid was conducted at Hotel Woodland Park, where a narcotics transaction was underway. We seized 11 packets containing 1,10,000 Yaba tablets worth ₹5.5 crore,” a senior police official said.
He added, “The drug kingpin, Sahidul Hossein Talukdar, was arrested from Silchar, Assam. He has been running the entire drug business from there. We have arrested two more persons in connection with the case.”

A case has been registered at East Agartala Police Station under Sections 22(C), 27(A), and 29 of the NDPS Act.
Authorities have launched an investigation to trace further links to the smuggling network.
