Agartala, July 25: Tripura’s state president of All India Trinamool Congress state president Pijush Kanti Biswas had resignation from the post and also primary membership of the party on Tuesday.
He wrote a resignation letter to AITMC supremo Mamata Banerjee.
Biswas said that due to personal reasons he resigned as unavailable to perform since the assembly election.
Earlier he was earlier Congress president and during the end of 2022 he along with his son Pujan Biswas, who then was Youth Congress president of Tripura had resigned over their differences with the Congress central leadership following which they had formed their own party but soon before the 2023 assembly election in Tripura had joined AITMC.
Trinamool during the 2022 urban body election performed well with getting more than 16 percent vote in several seats but under the leadership of Pijush the party failed to perform in the assembly election in which it lost the security amount in major seats those it had contested.
