Agartala, Mar 2: Northeast India’s first production center of the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) will be established in Tripura.
Laying the foundation stone for the proposed facility at Purba Laxmibill in Sepahijala district, Saha stated that ALIMCO, under the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, will set up its first Auxiliary Production Centre at the site. This initiative aims to improve accessibility and service delivery for Divyangjan (persons with disabilities).
Highlighting the project’s significance, Saha emphasized that the facility marks a major step forward in assistive device manufacturing and service delivery in the northeastern region, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of inclusive development.
The ALIMCO Auxiliary Production Centre will be developed with an investment of ₹45 crore, paving the way for a new era in the region’s assistive technology sector.
