Agartala, Oct 25: Tripura’s Governor designate, Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, received a ceremonial reception upon his arrival in Agartala on Wednesday.
The state government extended a warm welcome at Raj Bhawan, with the presence of prominent officials.
Tripura Chief Minister, Dr. Manik Saha, and key ministers including Sushanta Chowdhury (Tourism and Transport), Santana Chakma (Industries and Commerce), and Bikash Debbarma (Tribal Affairs) came together to greet the Governor designate.
The state’s Director General of Police, Amitabha Ranjan, and other high-ranking officials were also in attendance.
Indra Sena Reddy Nallu is scheduled to be sworn in as the 20th Governor of Tripura at Raj Bhawan on Thursday.
The ceremony will be attended by the state cabinet, High Court judges, the Director General of Police, and other top officials from the state administration.
His predecessor, Satyadeo Narain Arya, who had served as the state’s head since July 2021, bid farewell and received his last ceremonial guard of honor on Monday.
Reddy Nallu, the Governor designate, boasts an impressive political background, having been an ex-national general secretary of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
He has served as an elected MLA on three occasions – in 1983, 1985 and 1999 from Malakpet constituency in Hyderabad.
Additionally, he held the position of BJP State President in undivided Andhra Pradesh in 2003 and was appointed as the party’s national general secretary in 2014.
