Tura, Dec 31: A heavily loaded truck on Thursday night damaged two vehicles in Tura after snaping a branch and dragging it along for odd 50 meters.
A heavy truck, bearing registration number NL 02Q-1413, of Agarwal packer and movers was carrying heavy equipment laden on it and was travelling to Nasik (Maharashtra) from near by area of Tura (highway construction company).
Around 11:30 pm on Thursday night the truck on a turn snapped a heavy branch of a tree near the Government girls High school and dragged it for 50 metres near the TBC gate damaging two vehicles coming from the opposite direction.
One i10 and i20 had external dent and one had a crack on the windshield.
Talking to Hub News one of the lady who was driving the i20 said, “I am lucky that nothing happened to me, had the branch directly fallen on the vehicle or on the windshield I would have been dead.”
Bystanders and the other vehicle driver said that “despite of honking and yelling at the driver to stop the vehicle, he dragged it for 50 to 60 metres and after that only he stopped. In the meantime, he had already damaged two vehicles.”
Police have seized the truck and the driver taken for medical check up.
