Tura, Sept 24: All Mankin Chra Association (AMCA) celebrated its foundation day on Saturday at the District Auditorium, Tura, West Garo Hills. The main motive of this association is to equip the youth and men of the Garo household with information and knowledge about the Garo culture and traditions.
The All Mankin Chra Association is a newly formed association with its headquarters in Tura.
Saturday’s event was attended by members of the association along with members and presidents of different Mahari associations.

The program started with a welcome address by Pollison Mankin, General Secretary, followed by a folk song, and the keynote address by Rakkan Mankin, its President.
There was also was a short speech by the President of the Council of Nokma, S G Momin, Retd. Senior Police Officer, where he talked about the conservation of the forests and greenery of Garo Hills and also how to preserve and promote the Garo culture.
The program included a demonstration and explanation of the different customs and rituals of the Garo culture like Chawari sika & Chawari sing.a, Mande sio dakbewalrang, Mil.am & Spi ko jakkalani; there also was a special number by Chonu Marak.
The member attendees from the different parts of Garo Hills and some presidents of other Mahari associations also gave a short speech showing their appreciation and gratitude to the crowd.
