Tura Bar Association distributes essential items to flood-landslide affected victims of Bibhagre in Chokpot

Tura, Oct 10: Doing its bit to support the community hit by one of the worst natural calamities Garo Hills has seen in recent times, the Tura Bar Association distributed essential food items, medicines and clothing to the affected people on Tuesday.

 

Led by its Secretary Giles Ch. Sangma, members of the Bar contributed the essential items to lend a helping hand to the people who have suffered and are in distress in the area of Bibhagre under Chokpot area.

“The GSU unit along with Krima Leaders and other Religious and Social Activist Elders has guided our team and address the extent of losses and houses which estimated to around 200 in Chokpot Jurisdiction as well as took initiative to distribute the help whatever in this time we gather upon to reach to the masses,” Giles Ch. Sangma, Secretary, Tura Bar Association.

The Bar association also expressed their gratitude to the people working day and night to provide shelter, food and clothing and also lending their shoulders at this time of disaster to the victims.
